GM Closing 13 of 20 Plants

There are two sides to this unfortunate store. The one side is about non automotive attached Americans and the other are the dependant automotive Americans.

There are a lot of Americans that have no ties to the auto industry. Those people are angry as hell about the constant bail out. Spending tax payers money. And as they should be. There should be some changes in these companies.

On the sadder side is the American that are related to the industry. The workers of car companies and their offset branches and twigs. You have the actual car manufacturing company, but there are many factories that house any where from 50-900 workers to make parts for the company that puts those cars together. Its not just the GM plants that are closing, that dribbles down to all the smaller companies we don’t hear about that make parts for them. If they are making cars – they aren’t making parts and so on.

Just stop and think of how many parts go into a vehicle. Then think about where does that part come from. You will then find the larger map of destruction to only 13 plants closing, it is multiplied by at least 1000 and that is a small number.

One small plant Lydall Thermal and Acoustical company. One that people don’t either know about or don’t think about has closed plants for consolidation for money saving due to this car crunch. Leaving small towns with as many as 400 workers out of work. For a small area that is a hard hit punch.

There are many that will say that the closing means that the workers will have the summer off paid. That’s not entirely true. For the most part unemployment is a supplement of what their actual pay was, and most were living pay check to pay check.

We are all a spoiled bunch, like to look at the black and white of life. When will we wake up and realize we all live in the grey area and there is no such thing.
