That is the official view. It is also certain to be the view of those who are well-enough off to afford to drive their own vehicles. But it also raises a lot of questions about the State's right to exercise Emminent Domain on those who don't want to sell theri properties. There is also some question about whether or not this project will turn Indy into another 'donut hole' city. The building of venues for fossile-fuel burning vehicles shows some short-sightedness. Indianapolis is the largest metro area without a decent mass-transit system in the Midwest.
Will trucking companies want to shoulder the extra burden of a toll?
We should be looking for alternate solutions, not propegating the same problems.

I am not sure about the first four but I do believe the "Indiana Commerce Connector" is a great idea from an average guy. This new road will greatly reduce traffic on I-465 and I-69 to the north. The through traffic (mainly trucks) will use it to avoid the city. The daily commuters will benefit and the need for light rail will be lessened for now. People want to drive their own cars not ride trains. This new highway will create jobs, move people faster to the places they want to go, and open our state to new and bigger possiblities. Governor Daniels has let a lot of people down with his policies, and appointments to certain positions but this is a home run for all of us in Indiana.
